Brian Jenkins Crowned First-Ever Indoorsman of the Month

Brian Jenkins Crowned First-Ever Indoorsman of the Month

The first-ever Indoorsman of the Month playoff is officially in the books, and it delivered exactly the kind of competitive energy we built this club for.

After a week of qualifying rounds at Clear Creek Tahoe, our Final Four returned to Indoorsman for a live, in-person showdown on February 19. With the bays buzzing, pizza on the table, and Crumbl cookies fueling the competitors, the atmosphere felt like a true championship night.

And when the final putts dropped…

🏆 February Champion: Brian Jenkins — 79

Brian Jenkins rose to the occasion and posted a 79 to claim the title of Inaugural Indoorsman of the Month.

Final Leaderboard – Championship Night

  1. Brian Jenkins — 79 🥇

  2. Jack Densmore — 80 🥈

  3. Christian Heinbaugh — 83

  4. David Hillis — 88

It was tight at the top, with Brian edging out Jack by just a single stroke. Under playoff pressure, every shot mattered — and that’s exactly what made the night special.

More Than Just a Tournament

Beyond the scores, this night marked something even bigger for Indoorsman.

For the first time ever, all four Indoorsman founders were in the same room together. What started as a vision for a 24/7 members-only indoor golf club officially felt real — watching members compete, hanging out between holes, and building the kind of community we always hoped for.

This is what Indoorsman is about:

  • Competitive golf

  • Great people

  • Laid-back atmosphere

  • A place you actually want to spend your evening

March Tournament: The Old Course at St. Andrews

The February champion has been crowned… but the next challenge is already waiting.

March’s Indoorsman of the Month tournament will be played at the legendary Old Course at St. Andrews.

Yes — that St. Andrews.

Time to work on:

  • Approach accuracy
  • Bump-and-runs
  • Playing in “Scottish wind” (simulated, of course)
  • Avoiding those iconic pot bunkers

Invites will go out in March via Trackman, so keep an eye on your email and start getting your practice rounds in.

The Wall of Fame has its first name on it.

Who’s next?

We’ll see you in the bays.

February Challenge Recap: Meet the First-Ever Final Four at Indoorsman

February Challenge Recap: Meet the First-Ever Final Four at Indoorsman

The opening round of our first-ever Indoorsman of the Month tournament is officially complete and the competition delivered.

Over the qualifying week, members took on the exclusive Clear Creek Tahoe course inside the bays at Indoorsman. With tight pins, strategic approach shots, and plenty of pressure, players had one week to post their best score and climb the leaderboard.

Now, the stage is set.

🏆 The Final Four

The top four gross scores have earned a spot in our live, in-person playoff:

  • Christian Heinbaugh — 74

  • Jack Densmore — 83

  • David Hillis — 83

  • Brian Jenkins — 89

These four players will compete head-to-head on:

📅 Thursday, February 19 at 6:00 PM

One of them will be crowned our inaugural Indoorsman of the Month and earn a permanent spot on the club’s Wall of Fame.

This is exactly what we envisioned when we built Indoorsman – real competition, real pressure, and a community that loves the game.

🎯 Skills Competition Highlights

Beyond the gross leaderboard, several standout performances deserve recognition:

Closest to the Pin
Brian Jenkins — 13′ 8″

Longest Drive
Christian Heinbaugh — 307.3 yards

Best Net Score (vs. Handicap)
David Hillis — -15

The combination of gross and net scoring ensures that every member has a legitimate shot at recognition – whether you’re bombing drives 300+ yards or grinding out smart, consistent golf.

Reno Pride: Ian Gilligan Trains at Indoorsman GC

Reno native and Korn Ferry Tour professional Ian Gilligan is using Indoorsman Golf Club to prepare for the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour season opener in The Bahamas. As winter conditions limit outdoor golf in Northern Nevada, Ian has been training indoors to stay sharp ahead of the January event at the Ocean Club Golf Course on Paradise Island.

Staying Tour-Ready During the Reno Winter

Winter golf in Reno presents real challenges for players preparing to compete early in the professional season. Cold temperatures, limited daylight, and course conditions can restrict consistent outdoor practice, making indoor golf training an important option for serious golfers.

At Indoorsman Golf Club, Ian is able to maintain swing consistency, ball-striking precision, and overall readiness while continuing his preparation for competition abroad. From controlled practice sessions in Reno to tournament conditions in The Bahamas, the focus remains on consistency and confidence.

From Survivor to Professional Golfer

Ian Gilligan’s journey to the Korn Ferry Tour is defined by resilience both on and off the course.

As a cancer survivor, Ian has shared his experience overcoming a rare diagnosis early in life and returning to competitive golf at an elite level. His perseverance carried him through a standout collegiate career and ultimately to earning his Korn Ferry Tour card, placing him firmly on the pathway to the PGA TOUR.

Ian’s story and accomplishments have been featured by several outlets:

From Galena High School in Reno to the Korn Ferry Tour, Ian represents the strength of Northern Nevada golf on a national stage.
